Program Description

The Bachelor’s Program in Architecture is balanced with theoretical and practical components and synthesizes creativity and intellectual abilities. The studio-based learning approach employed promotes students’ implementation of creative and critical ideas, development of their foundational architectural knowledge, and professional skills. The program places special emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches.

A prerequisite for enrollment in the Bachelor’s Program in Architecture is passing a creative tour.

To enroll in the program, candidates must have passed the Unified National Examinations as required by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

Brief Description of Architecture Bachelor’s Program Structure:

  • Qualification to be awarded – Bachelor of Architecture
  • Language of instruction – Georgian
  • Program duration – 8 semesters (4 years)
  • Number of credits to be accumulated – 240 ECTS

 

To obtain a bachelor’s degree, students must accumulate 240 credits, distributed as follows:

  1. Major Field of Study (120 credits)
  • Architecture program mandatory courses – 105 credits
  • Architecture program mandatory-elective courses – 15 credits
  • Bachelor’s thesis – during the last two semesters of study
  1. Free Component: General Module (60 credits)
  • Introduction to Contemporary Thinking I and II – 12 credits
  • Academic Work Techniques – 6 credits
  • English language practical courses – 24 credits
  • Visual Arts – 6 credits
  • Introduction to Architecture – 6 credits
  • Fundamentals of Architectural Design – 6 credits
  1. Additional Program / Free Component (60 credits)

 

Within the main program, students are required to complete a bachelor’s thesis, which they work on during the last two semesters of study.
