About the Program

Studying psychology provides you with knowledge about the general patterns of behavior, cognitive processes, emotional sphere, motivation, and personality psychology, as well as their biological foundations. Special attention is paid to the foundational module, which is aimed at developing students’ communication, analysis, argumentation, and creative problem-solving skills. Students have the opportunity to gain practical experience alongside theoretical knowledge.

The Psychology program was developed in 2011 and is updated at the beginning of each academic year to improve the educational process.

To enroll in the Bachelor’s Program in Psychology, candidates must have passed the Unified National Examinations following the procedures established by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

Brief Description of Psychology Bachelor’s Program Structure:

  • Qualification to be awarded — Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology
  • Language of instruction — Georgian
  • Program duration — 8 semesters (4 years)
  • Number of credits to be accumulated — 240 ECTS

To obtain a bachelor’s degree, students must accumulate 240 credits, distributed as follows:

  1. Major Field of Study (120 credits)
  • Psychology mandatory courses block — 72 credits
  • Psychology elective courses block — 48 credits
  1. Free Component: General Module (60 credits)
  • Introduction to Contemporary Thinking I, II — 12 credits
  • Academic Work Techniques — 6 credits
  • Statistics — 6 credits
  • English language practical courses — 24 credits
  • Introductory courses with code INTRO — 12 credits
  1. Additional Program / Free Component (60 credits)

Note: Within the elective courses block, students can choose a bachelor’s seminar and a bachelor’s thesis.
