Sociology (Master’s Program)

The master’s program aims to prepare highly qualified sociologists who will be equipped with in-depth knowledge of theories, research methods (including innovative ones), and ethical principles, through which they will be able to conduct research independently and contribute to the development of the field.

The Sociology program creates a foundation for master’s students for further education in social sciences and prepares them for successful professional careers in organizations that conduct and/or use sociological research.

Degree awarded: Master of Arts in Sociology

Language of instruction: Georgian

Program duration: 120 ECTS credits, 4 semesters

Admission to the Sociology Master’s Program is based on the results of the general master’s examination and an internal university oral examination, during which the following will be assessed:

  • The applicant’s sociological vision
  • Motivation and academic achievements
  • Communication skills
  • Knowledge of English (minimum level B2)

The Sociology Master’s Program includes 120 credits, including:

Mandatory courses: 54 credits

Compulsory elective courses: 24 credits

Elective courses: 12 credits

Master’s thesis: 30 credits
