Although a bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification, as well as the successful completion of the general master’s examination, are necessary prerequisites for program selection, applicant ranking is based on internal university examination scores.
The internal university examination includes English language testing and an interview with the applicant. The interview is conducted by the administration, academic staff, and graduates of Ilia State University’s Educational Administration master’s program, during which the applicant’s competencies are assessed using 5 key criteria.
The applicant’s English language competency (B1) is evaluated through appropriate testing.

To obtain a master’s degree in Educational Administration, students must accumulate 120 credits within the program. In addition, at the end of the program, students must present a comprehensive portfolio that includes the best work (evidence) they have created during the program, demonstrating the competencies defined by the program’s learning outcomes. The assessment format for the comprehensive portfolio component is “pass/fail.” A passing grade on the portfolio is required for program completion.
The program offers students the opportunity to specialize in general or higher education. Its structure includes a core course block focused on management and leadership in education, teaching and learning, and the general context of the education sector (its social, political, and economic parameters). After completing the core block, students deepen their knowledge through elective courses in general or higher education. The program places significant emphasis on opportunities for practice and research in educational institutions.
